Medical Report: 4 years later, there is no cure for long COVID

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Long COVID has been linked to more than 200 symptoms, with some of the most common being brain fog, heart damage and respiratory issues.

Research is ongoing, but it appears there may be as many different pathways to disease as symptoms. COVID-19 attacks people and, for lack of a better explanation, finds a weak point in the individual. One of the most common ways it does damage is through inflammation.

And, according to a recent article in the journal Nature , many employers, as well as the general public, are becoming less supportive of those with long COVID.

Research needs to continue and, as tempting as it might be to put COVID-19 in the rearview mirror, many continue to suffer and need support.
