Beeville introduces new athletic director and football coach
BEEVILLE, Texas — Beeville ISD officially split the athletic director and football coach positions, introducing both hires Tuesday at a meet-and-greet with the community. Baseball coach and football assistant Richard Vasquez will take over as the Trojans' new Athletic Director. Gregory-Portland assistant Dave Holmgreen was named as the new Head Football Coach after coaching the Wildcats' offensive line the last three years. Holmgreen is also a 2002 Alice graduate.

C.A.S.T. ropes in success with annual fundraiser
Saturday, June 1st, CAST-CAC Children’s Alliance of South Texas, A Child Advocacy Center (CAST-CAC) hosted their 2nd annual “Cowboy Up Against Child Abuse” Benefit Team Roping. This family fun event was held at the new Dockery Arena in Karnes City, and was organized by S Productions. CAST welcomed 53 Hipoint Roping teams and 174 teams for their #13 Slide and #10.5 events! Even the smallest cowboys and cowgirls, cheered on by special guests from the San Antonio Rodeo Association, participated in a children’s team roping & barrel race events.
