Police: 22-year-old man charged for fentanyl, narcotics possession, firearm violations

PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — A 22-year-old man has been arrested and now faces multiple charges after police say he was found with narcotics — including fentanyl — and an illegal firearm in Petersburg.

According to the Petersburg Bureau of Police, its officers were performing drug enforcement activities in the 700 block of Halifax Street on Wednesday, April 24.

At about 11 p.m., they reportedly interacted with 22-year-old Logan Caldwell. According to police, officers found several items on his person, including:

  • A gun with a serial number that had been removed or altered
  • Hash oil
  • Fentanyl

In addition, the evidence photograph provided by police appears to show additional magazines for the handgun.

Caldwell was charged with possession of hash oil, possession of fentanyl, possession of a firearm while in possession of narcotics, possession of a concealed weapon and removing/altering a serial number on a firearm.
