Burlington’s projected budget gap closed
Burlington, Vermont’s new mayor and the city’s chief administrative officer say they have closed a projected $13 million budget gap. On April 24th, Mayor Emma Mulvaney-Stanak, who was sworn in on April 1st, announced the fiscal year 2025 budget had a nearly $13 million, rather than the expected $9 million, budget gap.
Three people facing charges in Plattsburgh drug investigation
Plattsburgh, NY- Police arrested 8 people on Monday after searching a house in Plattsburgh where they say they found drugs, cash, and a loaded handgun. Police say they found about 80 grams of crack, 25 grams of cocaine, 76 grams of fentanyl, a loaded 9mm pistol, and about $4,950 in what they suspect is profits from drug dealing. 8 people were detained, but police only released the names of three of them, Alisa Fields, 38, Rosa Drelinski, 39, and Marvin Chinn, 29, from Schenectady.
