PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD/WYZZ) — Illini Bluffs senior Josh Vaughn was unhittable on Friday.

The Bradley University recruit pitched a perfect game and struck out all 21 hitters he faced in a 1-0 win over visiting Peoria Christian. Vaughn had a 20-strikeout game last year.

Peoria Christian’s Gavin Walder was the tough luck losing pitcher despite striking out eight and only giving up a run on four hits. Will Giftos had an RBI single in the first inning to bring home the game’s only run.

Other baseball winners Friday included Normal Community, Normal West, Morton, Limestone and Eureka. The Eureka Hornets’ 1-0 win over Farmington was their fourth consecutive shutout.

Olympia softball was a 5-1 winner over visiting East Peoria.
