Jay 4, Lafayette 2: Ethan McDonald had three crucial RBIs to push the Royals into the state championship, defeating Lafayette in the state semifinals in Fort Myers.

Jay initially opened the scoring in the third inning off a throwing error before the Hornets got a pair of runs in the bottom half of the frame. A two-RBI double from McDonald in the fifth put the Royals up, 3-2, before an RBI single in the top of the seventh from McDonald gave Jay an insurance run.

Jax Lowery kept the bats silent in the bottom half of the seventh to secure victory.

McDonald finished the night with two hits, including a double, and three RBIs. Wyatt Peaden added a pair of hits, also with a double, and two runs. Landon Golden tripled, and Hayden Morris and Lowery each hit a single.

Grayson Shehan and Ryan Starosta both plated runs.

Golden threw four innings on the mound for Jay, striking out two batters. He surrendered eight hits, two runs and a walk. Lowery, in relief, struck out four batters in three innings, allowing just two hits.
