Pensacola woman sentenced for 2022 deadly car crash

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. ( WKRG ) — A Pensacola woman has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after a 2022 crash that killed two people, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Sara Nicole Hudson, of Pensacola, was sentenced on Thursday, April 18, in connection with a crash that occurred on Sorrento Road in January of 2022.

The FHP news release said Hudson was driving a car with her boyfriend as a passenger when she crashed into a pickup truck driven by an Alabama woman.

The car Hudson was driving crossed the center line while traveling around 85 miles per hour in a 55-mile-per-hour zone, according to the release. The car and pickup truck crashed head on.

The release said the male passenger was pronounced dead on the scene.

The female driver of the pickup truck was taken to the hospital, where she later died.

Hudson was charged with:

  • Two counts of vehicular manslaughter
  • Two counts of driving with a suspended license
  • One count of drug possession

Hudson was sentenced to 15 years in state prison, 15 years of probation following her release, and a 20-year drivers license revocation, according to the FHP.
