Downtown Pensacola fire causes extensive damage

PENSACOLA, Fla. ( WKRG ) — Authorities are investigating after a fire in downtown Pensacola caused “extensive damage,” News 5 has learned.

WKRG News 5’s Alexa Daly reported on the scene of today’s fire on North Palafox Street. Pensacola officials say the fire started in a building under renovation.

In a News 5 video, Pensacola firefighters can be seen spraying fire hoses from aerial ladders.

We’re still gathering information about this incident, and it is unknown if anyone was injured in the fire.

Authorities said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
