Officials investigating after two-vehicle crash in Ritchie Co.

PENNSBORO, W.Va. (WBOY) — A two-vehicle accident in Ritchie County resulted in two women being transported by ambulance for further treatment.

A Facebook post from the Pennsboro Volunteer Fire Department (PVFD) stated that at 8:53 p.m. on April 12, it was alerted to a two-vehicle accident with entrapment at the intersection of Route 50 West & Route 74.

The post went on to say that two injured females were removed from one of the vehicles and transported to Camden Clark Hospital by ambulance. The extent of their injuries was not released.

The Ellenboro and Harrisville VFDs along with the Ritchie County Office of Emergency Management were also made aware of the accident. Units 10 and 16 responded in addition to officials with other departments, resulting in nearly 30 firemen on the scene.

The Ritchie County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
