Janesville woman charged with fleeing police in vehicle, allegedy reaching 100 mph
A Janesville woman is facing a felony charge of fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle after police say she reached speeds of nearly 100 mph in a frightening high speed chase along Highway 14. Anna Elizabeth Frye, 22, was charged in Waseca County District Court on March 6, a day after the reported chase. Police say that Frye had been involved in a prior welfare check in Waseca and had left that residence apparently upset. After Frye’s vehicle passed an officer on Highway 14 going at a high rate of speed, a traffic stop was conducted. Asked for her identification, Frye asked the officer to “leave me the f--- alone,” then took off at a high rate of speed despite being told not to. Police continued to chase the vehicle as it hit nearly 100 mph before slowing down. The vehicle ultimately came to a stop after the Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office placed sticks on the road to stop it near Eagle Lake.
