Knoxville Man Allegedly Threatens Marion County Road Department
(Marion County, IA) A Knoxville man is behind bars after allegedly threatening the Marion County Road Department on Tuesday. Joshua Isely is facing threats of terrorism and first-degree harassment charges. The comments were made on a Facebook post. He is currently in the Marion County Jail.
Knoxville Residential House Fire Considered a Total Loss
The residential house fired that occurred Tuesday morning in Knoxville is considered a total loss. At 10:05 Tuesday morning the Knoxville Fire Department was dispatched to the 1000 block of E Robinson St. for a reported structure fire. Kansas City Man Accused of Felony Theft, Burglary Charges
A Kansas City man faces felony charges in Pella following an arrest on Friday. According to court records, 20 year old Lucas Darionte Aaron Reid was accused of harassing an individual at Central College in a verbal altercation and at one point appeared to display a weapon that was later determined to be a BB gun. During a subsequent arrest, the Pella Police Department found items reportedly stolen from a Central College dorm room in Reid’s vehicle. Reid is charged with 3rd degree burglary and 2nd degree theft, both class D felonies, and multiple counts of 2nd degree harassment.

Oskaloosa police chief says standoff at mobile home park ends without injury; one in custody
OSKALOOSA, Iowa — A standoff in Oskaloosa ended Monday afternoon without injury when one man suspected of firing multiple gunshots was taken into custody. Oskaloosa Police Chief Benjamin Boeke told KCCI that officers responded Monday morning to a report of shots fired at the Spring Creek Village Mobile Home Park, including one that went through a neighboring mobile home's window.

This week in Marion County, Iowa, there were three notable incidents. A man from Kansas City was arrested for attempting to cash a fraudulent check at a local bank. A semi truck caught fire at a highway turn off, causing traffic congestion. Additionally, a residential fire occurred in Knoxville, but no one was injured as the occupants were not home at the time. Emergency crews responded promptly and successfully extinguished the fire.

Marion County has seen a wide variety of scam attempts just over the last couple weeks including fraudulent checks, counterfeit $100 bills, and phone scams. Although it has been prevalent lately, this is something that happens year round and is not unique to Marion County.

Marion County Public Safety Night was held Sunday on the Knoxville square. The event gave community members an opportunity to explore the ins and outs of police vehicles, fire trucks, and ambulances. People also had the chance to speak with public safety personnel who protect and serve area communities. At the event, there was a large variety of fire trucks, EMS and police vehicles from the departments that serve the county.
