The Mississippi high school baseball playoffs are heading into their second and third rounds with only a few weeks of action remaining. Schools are looking to make a trip to Trustmark Park and leave Pearl with a championship banner. Here are The Clarion-Ledger's predictions for the state championships for MHSAA Class 1A-7A.

    Class 7A

There's no simple path in the Class 7A playoffs. Talent surrounds the bracket, and no game is given. Defending Class 6A champion Lewisburg still has the willpower it did last season. Having to get past strong Hernando in the second round and possibly Germantown or Madison Central isn't simple. But the Patriots early season games against out-of-state teams just might pay off for them down the stretch. Lewisburg will face Northwest Rankin in a competitive three-game series at Trustmark Park in the state final.

Result: Lewisburg wins the series 2-1.

    Class 6A

A stretch of 12 consecutive games won in the middle of the season and a series win over Class 6A rival West Jones saw Pearl River Central grab Mississippi baseball fans' attention. The Blue Devils, led by Conner Dyess and Isaias Ryan, have the chance to help claim PRC's second state title and first since 2017. The Blue Devils will face Center Hill in the state final.

Result: Pearl River Central wins the series 2-1.

    Class 5A

South Jones, led by Cole Richardson, Dylan Causey , and Chase Billiot, has the chance to help bring the Braves their first state baseball title since 1984. Going 13-1 in district play, only having one of its four losses on the season come from Class 5A, South Jones must pass a talented Vancleave team in the semifinals and then face New Hope in the state final.

Result: South Jones wins the series 2-1.

    Class 4A

At the top of Class 4A, Sumrall led the pack the whole season. Winning 15 of its last 16 games, the Bobcats, led by Landon Hawkins , Drew Davis and Cade Clinton, are looking for Sumrall's seventh state title and first since 2022. Sumrall will face talented West Lauderdale in the final.

Result: Sumrall wins the series 2-1.

    Class 3A

In the second round of the Class 3A playoffs, East Webster faced daunting Kossuth, which was the favorite to win 3A. The Wolverines showed up big. East Webster swept Kossuth 2-0 and now has its sights set on its fourth state championship. There is a potential date with talented Mooreville in the semifinals. East Webster will face West Marion in the state final.

Result: East Webster wins the series 2-0.

    Class 2A

After a first-round bye, East Union had a combined score of 32-0 in two games during a second-round thrashing over Ingomar. What stands in the Urchins' way? A state final date against St. Andrew's Episcopal, which hasn't lost a game in Mississippi since Feb. 22. Expect a competitive final series at Trustmark Park.

Result: East Union wins the series 2-1.

    Class 1A

Biggersville could become the first Mississippi high school to win a title in football, basketball and baseball in the same school year. Biggersville, led by Drew Rowsey , Tre Gunn and Zailis Blackmon, has a good shot at doing so but will face defending Class 1A winners Resurrection Catholic in the final.

Result: Biggersville wins the series 2-0.
