Brandon Logan acquitted of assault, gun charges

POLK COUNTY—A Pea Ridge man was found not guilty by a jury in Polk County Superior Court last month after being charged with a shooting that took place at his residence.

In June of 2021, Brandon Logan turned himself in to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office after discovering that officials had issued a warrant for his arrest. In the process, deputies searched the residence and, according to Logan’s parents, caused $35,000 worth of damage to the house by breaking doors and windows while holding them at a nearby church.

Logan was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle.

In the months that followed Daniel and Pamela Logan shared their story, sharing letters with the Bulletin and other establishments in the community regarding the nature of the search warrant and other details related to the arrest of their son, Brandon Logan.

Nearly two and a half years later, Logan was found not guilty after witnesses testified in Superior Court that he wasn’t at the residence during the time of the shooting. Logan says he looked up to the victim as a father figure and has known him for the majority of his life.

“The hardest part of this was the publicity,” said Brandon Logan on Thursday. “I feel like people look at me like some kind of monster. I’m just glad that it’s over and I can finally show the public that’s not the person that I am.

According to Logan, the jury decided that he was not guilty in less than ten minutes.

The victim of the shooting was treated at Spartanburg Regional Hospital and has since made a full recovery.

“I’m not mad at him,” says Logan. “I just don’t know why he made those accusations against me the way he did.”

District Attorney Andrew Murray confirmed on Thursday that the jury found Brandon Logan not guilty on April 18.
