Man suffers serious injuries Monday in 3-vehicle crash near Larned in central Kansas
LARNED, Kan. (WIBW) - A man was seriously injured Monday afternoon in a three-vehicle crash in Pawnee County in central Kansas, officials said. The collision was reported at 12:01 p.m. Monday on K-156 highway, about a mile east of K-246 highway. The location was about 2 miles west of Larned.

PAWNEE COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just after noon Monday in Pawnee County. The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2012 Cadillac SRX driven by Morgan Williams, 39, Wichita, was eastbound on Kansas 156 just east of Kansas 246 Highway behind a 2007 International semi driven by Bradley J. Walker, 33, Wichita.

This is unchanged from 2.7% in February and unchanged from 2.7% in March 2023, according to a media release from KDOL.
Great Bend man enters guilty plea for sex crimes with child
PAWNEE COUNTY, Kan. (KAKE) - A Great Bend man appeared in Pawnee County court this week for a jury trial for sex charges with a minor. Shelby Lee Starr, 49, entered into a plea agreement to one count of aggravated indecent liberties with a child under the age of 14. In addition, the State has allowed Starr to be sentenced pursuant to state guidelines, and dismiss an additional count.

PAWNEE COUNTY– Shelby Lee Starr, 49 of Great Bend, appeared in the Pawnee County District Court this week for jury trial regarding two Jessica’s Law offenses. An all-male jury was selected on Monday. Opening statements were scheduled to commence Tuesday morning. Prior to the formal swearing in of the jury, the parties announced they had reached a plea agreement whereby the defendant entered an Alford plea of guilt to a single count of Aggravated Indecent Liberties with a child under the age of 14, according to Pawnee County Attorney Doug McNett.
