Flooding and strong-severe storms possible
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - A First Alert Weather Day has been issued for Tuesday morning due to multiple possible strong to severe storms. The First Alert Weather Day for Monday has ended, however, a Flood Watch remains in effect through 8 p.m. Tuesday for Grady and Seminole Counties. Rainfall around 3 inches has fallen and with an additional 3-4 inches possible flash flooding may occur. Watch for rising water in those areas.
Valdosta woman charged after shooting at home with children inside, police say
VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - A woman is facing multiple charges after police say she shot vehicles and a home while children were inside after a family argument. On Thursday, Valdosta police officers were called to the 600 block of New Hudson Street to a report of an argument involving a woman with a gun. Witnesses reported several shots were fired.

SRTC Nursing Graduates Honored in Pinning Ceremony
THOMASVILLE, GA — On Monday, May 6, 2024, Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC) held a pinning ceremony at SRTC-Moultrie during which 32 Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) students from the SRTC-Thomasville and SRTC-Tifton cohorts received their nursing pins. The ceremony commemorates the students’ successful completion of their nursing coursework and clinical rotations. This class of nursing students is eligible to participate in SRTC’s formal graduation ceremony on July 30 and will officially be Registered Nurses (RN) pending the passage of their board exams.
