Weather slows local racing to a crawl
The big news on the local racing scene this weekend was the weather. Numerous showers and storms caused many rainouts, while several tracks got in partial shows. Friday night racing was the hardest hit, with Brewerton, Utica-Rome, Albany-Saratoga, Ransomville and Afton all getting washed out. Fulton and Oswego each lost some of their feature events but they were considered completed shows.

Reported burglary, assault lead to large police presence in Ogden
OGDEN, N.Y. — Ogden Police and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary and assault at a home on South Union Street on Friday. Police responded shortly before 6 p.m. Shortly before 8 p.m., Ogden Police Chief Travis Gray said police contained and cleared the scene– but that no suspects were in custody. The chief said there is believed to be no threat to the public.
