Just what does a commissioner do? And what can I do for you?
I’m Ken Fahlgren and I’d like to be your Crook County Commissioner. I served as your commissioner from 2009 thru 2016, but this time around, I found myself surprised when more than one person asked me “Just what does a commissioner do?” I think that question deserves an answer, which will also include some of the reasons that make me the right man for the job. County commissioner duties vary across Oregon. Generally, they direct and oversee county government operations. Their main responsibilities include legislative...

The Crook County Cowboy baseball team won a wild Tri-Valley Conference game on Thursday, May 2, edging Estacada 14-13 in extra innings. “It shouldn't have been that close,” said senior catcher Tyis Yustat following the game. Given that Estacada is 1-11 in league and 7-15 overall while Crook County is 10-1 in league and 16-4 overall, Yustat is probably right. However, if you look at stats from the game it...
