Landlord-tenant dispute ends in shooting

GALLIA COUNTY, OHIO (WOWK) — Investigators in Gallia County believe that a landlord-tenant dispute turned violent, sending one man to the hospital following a shooting.

Sheriff Matt Champlin says that it happened Tuesday afternoon in the Mudsock area Walnut township.

The shooting victim was flown to the hospital and has been stabilized.

The sheriff says they are interested in speaking with Isaiah Conkey, 18 of Patriot, Ohio. Conkey is believed to be the other person involved.

Anyone with information on Conkey’s whereabouts is asked to call the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office at (740)446-1221.

“At this time, the incident is believed to have stemmed from a personal dispute between the individuals and that there is no indication of a public safety concern,” Champlin said in a Facebook post.
