East Orange Man Arrested in Connection to January 1 Shooting Incident in Paterson

PATERSON, NJ - Eudys Santios-Toribio, 23, East Orange, was arrested on Thursday in connection to a s hooting incident that occurred on January 1 in Paterson, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes, and Paterson Police Department Officer in Charge Isa Abbassi announced.

Santios-Toribio faces several charges, including Aggravated Assault in the second and third degree, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.

According to a statement, on the day of the incident, members of the Paterson Police Department responded to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center at approximately 4:56 a.m. following reports of a shooting victim arriving seeking treatment. Once on scene, officers encountered a 25-year-old female resident of Prospect Park who had sustained a non-fatal gunshot wound.

A subsequent investigation identified Santios-Toribio as the perpetrator of the shooting.
