Authorities Seeking Identification of Male Found Dead in Paterson House Fire

PATERSON, NJ - The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating a fatal house fire that left one man dead on Sunday.

According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, Paterson Police Department Officer In Charge Isa Abbassi, and Paterson Fire Chief Alex Alicea, the Paterson Fire Department was dispatched to 465 Hamilton Avenue at approximately 11:48 p.m, on a report of a working residential fire.

While attempting to extinguish the fire, members of the Paterson Fire Department discovered a deceased male in the basement. Identification of the deceased has not been confirmed and is pending an investigation by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
