Brian Hernandez Jr. is the latest horse jockey from Acadiana to make history on the racetrack. Hernandez, 38, narrowly won the 150th running of the Kentucky Derby Saturday at Churchill Downs on a Shreveport horse named Mystik Dan. He is one of only eight jockeys to win both the Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby in the same year.
