    Law enforcement calls for April 22 to May 5, 2024

    PARK FALLS POLICE DEPARTMENTThe Park Falls Police Department reported public calls from April 21-28, 2024.

    APRIL 22• owner of two pit bulls was issued a dog-at-large and vaccinations warning after the dogs were found running along State Highway 182.

    APRIL 23• 1:30 p.m., dog bite resulted in dog quarantine.

    • citations for possession of a vape device and possibly THC were issued to a student at Chequamegon High School with a referral to Price County Human Services.

    APRIL 24• a police squad struck a mailbox on Hoot Owl Road.

    APRIL 25• a woman was issued city ordinance violations for possession of THC and drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop.

    APRIL 26• a traffic stop resulted in referring charges for driving without a valid license, and non-registration of vehicle to the Price County District Attorney.

    • assisted Price County Human Services with investigating a child-safety complaint.

    • courtesy junk ordinance violation notices given to two separate residences.

    • courtesy junk vehicles violation notice given to a resident.

    APRIL 27• 9:55 a.m., illegal dumping of trash and other refuse at Nola Cemetery.

    • 6:32 p.m., resident complaint of continuous phone calls from the same number. The officer advised the resident to block the number.

    • contacted the parents of juveniles who were throwing dirt at passing vehicles.

    APRIL 28• 11:11 a.m., retail security alarm with employee working in the store.

    • courtesy junk ordinance violation notice given to a resident.

    PHILLIPS POLICE DEPARTMENTThe Phillips Police Department public calls from April 29-May 5, 2024.

    APRIL 29• 8:24 a.m., a minor two-vehicle crash involving a 2018 RED Chevrolet Silverado and a 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan was reported at a South Lake Avenue apartment building parking lot.

    • 11:20 a.m., a two vehicle crash with no injuries or road blockage reported with a 2018 Ford Escape and a 2023 Ford Escape on North Lake Avenue. There was minor damage to one of the vehicles.

    • 2 p.m., assisted a local utility provider with a natural gas line break at Ash and Fifield Streets.

    • 2:45 p.m., dog-at-large report by the owner on Elk Avenue. The dog returned and the owner was given seven days to show proof of rabies vaccination and county license.

    • 3:45 p.m., warned a juvenile male regarding a complaint of inappropriate behavior toward other juvenile males and a mother to one of them.

    • 7:05 p.m., responded with Price County Sheriff’s Office deputies to a North Lake Avenue care facility regarding a missing elderly female who had left the building. An Xcel Energy Inc. worker reported the woman on Victoria Street and she was transported back to the care facility and was checked by Central Price County Ambulance Service crew before clearing the scene.

    • 10:51 p.m., issued a warning to the driver of a 2013 Chevrolet Impala for a non-functioning registration lamp and driving behavior after a motorist complained of brake checking, tailgating and refusing to pass when pulling over for the vehicle on State Highway 13 in the south end of the city.

    APRIL 30• 4:15 p.m., investigating a missing bike complaint from a North Avon Avenue resident.

    • 8:17 p.m., assisted Price County Sheriff’s Office in a traffic stop of a 2011 Buick LaCrosse on North Lake Avenue, where a K-9 alerted on a vehicle. The driver was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and bail jumping.

    MAY 1• 1:22 a.m., assisted EMS.

    MAY 2• 8:30 a.m., issued a citation for illegal pass of a school bus to the driver of a 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer at County Road D at South Lake Avenue. The bus driver reported the vehicle failed to stop while the bus was loading students.

    • 9:50 a.m., EMS assist.

    • 2:43 p.m., cited a woman for possession of illicit drugs following a traffic stop of a 2011 Buick Lucerne on Princeton Valley Lane. A man in the vehicle male was transported via ambulance.

    • 6:34 p.m., responded to a report of a 2017 Lexus that went off the road on County Road S.

    • 6:34 p.m., assisted Price County Sheriff’s Office with a welfare check request..

    • 12:09 p.m., EMS assist.

    MAY 3• 4:25 p.m., assisted Price County Sheriff’s Office with a traffic stop of a 2008 Dodge Caravan on Oak Street, where the driver was arrested for possession of methamphetamine.

    • 11:30 p.m., an officer secured an open door of a South Lake Avenue business.

    • 11:52 p.m., EMS assist.

    MAY 5• 10:05 a.m., EMS assist.

    • 7 p.m., trespassed an individual from a tavern after complaints the man was highly intoxicated and sleeping at the bar.
