Chequamegon senior Autumn Michalski won the women’s 1,600 meter run at the ‘Myrhum’ Invite at Arrowhead High School in Hartland on May 4.

Michalski ran with a time of 4:54.98, outpacing Nora Gremban of Northland Pines who placed second with 4:56.59. Lily Kriegel of Whitefish Bay was third with 4:58.53, and Lilie Fouts of Xavier was fourth with 5:04.41.

In all the race included 17 elite runners from around the state, according to Chequamegon Coach Mary Patterson.

“No one wanted to lead the first lap making it a slower start, but Autumn progressively got faster and when she made her move no one could kick with her,” Patterson said. “It was a season-best time with Autumn looking so strong yet again!”

Michalski competed in the one event. There were no other area athletes competing at the meet.
