1 adult, 1 juvenile dead after house fire reported in rural Eastern Kansas
LOUISBURG, Kan. (KCTV) - Two individuals, one of them a juvenile, have been pronounced deceased as the result of a late-morning fire in rural Eastern Kansas. The Louisburg Fire Department says that just after 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 15, emergency crews were called to the 600 block of N. Fifth St. with reports of a house fire.
Adult, juvenile killed in Louisburg house fire
LOUISBURG – A Louisburg house fire claimed the lives of an adult and juvenile on the morning of Thursday, May 16. Louisburg Fire Chief Gerald Rittinghouse said a neighbor reported the fire in the 600 block of North Fifth Street at 11:01 a.m., and a fire official was on scene shortly thereafter at 11:04 a.m., followed by the first fire truck at 11:07 a.m.
Man jailed for knife attack at Kansas apartment complex
JOHNSON COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a violent knife attack and have made an arrest. Just before 6 p.m. Sunday, police and EMS responded to a report of a stabbing at an apartment in the 13900 block of W 63rd Terrace in the city of Shawnee, according to a media release from police.
Paola Masonic Lodge honors students, teachers
PAOLA – Members of the Paola Masonic Lodge presented awards to students and teachers during a banquet Thursday, May 2, at the Paola United Methodist Church. Four $500 scholarships were awarded to high school seniors who plan to attend a trade school in Kansas. The students receiving the scholarships were: Samuel Johnson, Bailey Donahue, Fisher Woolsey, Devin Gainer and Eli Meyers.
Emergency crews free man trapped in collapsed trench in Overland Park
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — Fire and rescue crews in Johnson County worked to free a man trapped in a trench that collapsed in Overland Park Tuesday morning. The Overland Park Fire Department said crews were called to a construction area near 131st Street and Goodman Street Tuesday morning shortly before 10 a.m.
