PANAMA CITY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – The inaugural “Cultura International Festival” features live entertainment, over 60 local vendors and businesses, and the culture and food of over 50 countries.

It all begins Friday, May 17th in downtown Panama City and goes through Sunday, May 19th.

The action begins at 6 p.m. Friday with a food truck festival and live performances at the Panama City Marina.

On Saturday a 5K color run will get things started followed up by a street festival beginning at 2 p.m.

A dog-gone good opportunity for fun in Bay County

All the festivities end on Sunday with a yoga class and brunch on the Hotel Indigo event lawn at 10 a.m.

This festival came about as a result of the city of Panama City wanting to create a community gathering for the many local organizations in the area.

“As the city, we really decided to kind of take ownership of that and to build on it and to facilitate that so that we can lay that groundwork for all of those community organizations to come together and really represent themselves,” said  Panama City Arts, Culture, and Education Manager Dr. Kesia Blenn.

All the fun taking place throughout the weekend can be enjoyed free of charge.

There is still time to get involved with Saturday’s 5K, registration costs $35 .
