PANAMA CITY, Fla. ( WMBB ) — Bay District Schools is offering a summer credit recovery program to their middle and high school students.

This is an opportunity for students to make up credits and avoid falling behind. The program is online, but students can go to their zoned high school from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for in-person tutoring. Virtual instruction will also be available from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Students can make up as many credits as they need, but they can only be enrolled in one class at a time. Secondary & Adult Instructional Services director Alana Simmons says the credit recovery program is vital to students’ success.

“We all know that life happens to our students. Our students are juggling a lot of different responsibilities, some may be working, some may have just had a tough year, life circumstances happen. We understand that students can get behind. Attendance can be an issue, and we want to provide them this opportunity so they can stay on track and recover and still graduate on time,” Simmons said.

Students can go to their school guidance counselors to enroll in the summer credit recovery program. The first session begins June 10.
