PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) — Several Panama City parks will soon have brand new scoreboards, courtesy of Coca-Cola.

City officials agreed to a 10-year beverage agreement with the company. Coca-Cola will place four scoreboards at Oakland Terrace, two at Frank Nelson, and one at Daffin Park. Concessions at those parks, Sudduth Park and Woods Field will exclusively sell Coca-Cola beverages.

Revenue will be split between the beverage company and the city. According to Coca-Cola, they project the revenue after ten years to be just over $200,000.

“We’re just trying to provide a good environment for our kids to come and play, kids of all ages to enjoy, we got adult softball leagues going on, church leagues going on, and just the opportunity to have them out there and supporting our programs and what we’re doing for the city, I think it’s just going to be a great, exciting partnership,” Panama City Quality of Life Director Keith Mefford said.

The current scoreboards at Oakland Terrace, with Pepsi logos, will come down. City officials hope all the new scoreboards will be up within 6 weeks.
