Riverport Authority approves bid, state funding for two port projects
PADUCAH — The Paducah-McCracken County Riverport Authority approved a 3.82 million grant bid proposal on Tuesday, May 7, for its Port Infrastructure Development project. The grant comprises 3.28 million federal dollars and half a million matching money from Paducah McCracken County, the river port, and four business partners. The project aims to upgrade outdated equipment.
City of Paducah Planning Director Nicholas Hutchison has unexpectedly resigned
PADUCAH — The City of Paducah’s Planning Director Nicholas Hutchison unexpectedly resigned from his position on Friday. City Manager Daron Jordan confirmed Hutchison’s resignation on Monday. “We are disappointed that he was moving on to the next chapter of his life, but it was totally unexpected from our standpoint,” said Jordan. “But we trust he’s made an informed decision on what was best for him, and we want what’s best for him, and we want to support him going forward.”
MCCCE announces 2024-25 educational scholarship winners
PADUCAH — Workplace diversity advocacy group McCracken County Community Career Endowment Inc. will distribute its 2024-25 Educational Scholarships at a reception to honor the 34 student recipients at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 2, at the Clemens Fine Arts Center on the campus of West Kentucky Community and Technical College. The event is open to the public. Dr. Thailandria Daniels will be the keynote speaker for the event.
