The Ole Miss Rebels have an outstanding quarterback group heading into the 2024 season, but Coach Lane Kiffin is always looking ahead. They are making efforts to recruit Deuce Knight from George County High School to join their team. Can Ole Miss get Knight to flip his commitment from Notre Dame?

Ole Miss Tries to Flip 4-Star QB Notre Dame Commit

Knight, a highly regarded quarterback, transferred to Lipscomb Academy in Nashville last season and returned to George County. He is a four-star recruit and currently committed to Notre Dame. If he switches to Ole Miss, he would be joining three other Mississippi commits in the 2025 class.

The team's current starting quarterback is Jaxson Dart, with Austin Simmons, Walker Howard, and AJ Maddox as backups. Maddox is the latest addition to the Rebels, signing in the 2024 class. There seems to be momentum toward this happening, as 247Sports went to far as to log a flip prediction with their crystal ball outlooks.

Knight had previously committed to the Fighting Irish in September 2023, but he said at OT7 that the chase for his services comes down to Ole Miss or Notre Dame. Colorado is no longer in the running.

Deuce Knight Lights Up OT7 Finals

Knight took part in the OT7 football league, which featured a ton of the top 2025 recruits in one place. The dual-threat QB took full advantage of the opportunity to make sweet throws and big plays, utilizing college football's stars of tomorrow.

What could save the Irish is that Knight was just on campus about 10 days ago, sharing this video of his tour. It's hard to ever know what will happen considering the natural way of NIL deals and how kids respond to attention, but Notre Dame seems to still be in a good spot to land the 4-star's services.
