Penn Yan community gears up for DRI work
PENN YAN--The village of Penn Yan has announced that many projects funded by the New York state Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI), will begin construction in May. Indian Pines Park will be updated to enhance its location as a waterfront recreation spot, with beach replenishment and a complete overhaul of the parking lot. The construction will start in early May and will take four weeks. During this period, the park will remain closed for public safety reasons.
Expect strong thunderstorms in Cayuga and Oswego counties until Tuesday afternoon
The National Weather Service issued a report at 11:40 a.m. on Tuesday for strong thunderstorms until 3:30 p.m. for Cayuga and Oswego counties. "Scattered thunderstorms will develop this afternoon ahead of a slow moving cold front. Some of the storms could be marginally strong with localized heavy rain and wind gusts to 45 mph. This low probability risk will end this evening," states the weather service.
