LAPEER, Mich. – Police are on the Lapeer Community Schools’ Rolland-Warner Middle School campus on Thursday after an alleged threat was made on social media. An investigation has been launched. The school district says it appears that several students experienced a tach breach to their social media accounts.
Crim to host Halloween race in Crossroads Village
FLINT, Mich. (WNEM) – The Crim Fitness Foundation is partnering with Genesee County Parks to host a fall-themed race inside Crossroads Village in October. The Crim Fitness Foundation said on Oct. 26, there will be a Halloween Hustle 5K and Kids’ Trick-or-Trot inside the historic Crossroads Village. The event is presented by Flatrock Inc., and it aligns with Crossroads Village’s Ghosts and Goodies season.
The Flint Institute of Music and Flint Public Library Collaborate to Provide Summer Meal Programs
The Gloria Coles Flint Public Library and FIM have partnered with the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan to make sure that, in addition to a whole lot of fun, young participants in classes and activities across the Cultural Center Campus will have access to daily meals and snacks through the federal Meet Up and Eat Up food distribution program. Between the two sites, free lunch and snacks will be provided Monday through Friday, all summer long.

GRAND BLANC, Mich. (WXYZ) — A Mid-Michigan lottery club comprised of three people has won the $842.4 million Powerball jackpot, the largest in the state's history. The trio — who calls themselves 'The Breakfast Club' and weren't named in a media release announcing the claiming — matched all the numbers drawn on New Year's Day. They bought the winning ticket at the Food Castle of Grand Blanc.
Flint Township homicide defendant sentenced to more than 20 years in prison
FLINT, MI – The man who shot and killed Christopher “CJ” Otto in April 2023 will serve at least 27 years in prison after being sentenced in Genesee County Circuit Court. Judge Mark W. Latchana sentenced 37-year-old Nicholas Hetzer Monday, June 10, to 25-50 years in prison for second-degree murder.
