Davenport's new Big 9 Summer Concert Series brings live music to the Quad Cities all summer long
DAVENPORT, Iowa — Community members around the Quad Cities will be able to enjoy live music in Davenport all summer long during the Big 9 Summer Concert Series. The City of Davenport is partnering with the Riverfront Improvement Commission and Common Chord for the new Big 9 Summer Concert Series. The new series will replace the previous "Music on The River" series. As the name implies, there will be nine concerts throughout the series, and they'll be held at different locations along Davenport's nine miles of riverfront. The first will kick off on Memorial Day weekend, and performances will be held periodically through the end of August.
Two motorists dead in separate East Moline crashes
East Moline police are investigating two fatal crashes that happened Wednesday morning on Interstate 88. On Wednesday May 8th, 2024 at approximately 8:08 a.m., East Moline Police officers were dispatched to a traffic crash with injuries that occurred on I-88 westbound, just east of Exit 2. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a box truck had struck the rear end of a semi-truck that was entering the roadway from the shoulder, according to a police release.
