The 2024 Upper Adams School District Color Day was held on Monday as students in grades 4-6 participated in physical education activities and dance. Events included a 1/4 mile run, 50 yard dash, 100 yard dash, sack race, 3 legged race, 200 yard relay, softball throw, foul shots, and jump rope. Tournaments included volleyball, soccer, and kickball.

Gettysburg Brass Band Festival presents The Wise Guys
The Wise Guys will be making its first appearance at the 2024 Gettysburg Brass Band Festival on Saturday, June 8th at 3:00 p.m. Founded in 2002, The Wise Guys began as a traditional brass ensemble, and when the University of Virgina at Wise began to offer a music major in 2007, the group narrowed its focus morphing into a tuba-euphonium ensemble. The group is open to anyone who plays tuba or euphonium performing repertoire that includes arrangements customized by its leader, Professor Rick Galyean, director of bands at the UVA-Wise.

The Canners racked up 12 hits in winning at home over Delone on Monday. Alexis Pickett homered and doubled among her three hits, totaling three RBI and three runs scored. Leah Strawsburg also knocked in three on the strength of two hits, including a double. Sydney McCleaf turned in another strong pitching performance for the win, striking out four walking while walking two and not allowing an earned run.

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Police in Cumberland County are investigating after a student was found with a device that could obtain someone’s credit card information. Shippensburg Police say on May 2 a school resource officer was informed that a student had a device in school that could be used to gain credit card information.
