Dog of the Week: Frack
8-27-26, neutered terrier mix, FOUND w/Frick on Rhoric Rd, Athens. Before “Frick and Frack” became shorthand for inseparable best buds, they were a famous 1930s ice skating duo known for their eccentric and acrobatic routines. Today, you can find the canine versions at the Athens County Dog Shelter! Frack is a happy-go-lucky Terrier mix that makes the Kool-Aid Man look like Winnie the Pooh. Busting through walls with pure joy is his specialty. He’s dog selective, recently neutered and up to date on all his vaccinations. Just like his athletic human namesake, this brindle boy needs a home ready for adventure. He would do best in a home with older children and an adopter who is committed to challenging him mentally and physically. Are you ready to bring this powerhouse into your life? Schedule a meet by calling 740-593-5415. Not ready to adopt but want to help him burn off some energy? Frack is also available to foster. Apply at www.fosathens.com/volunteer.

This Ohio Hiking Trail Is Gorgeous, But Locals Avoid It During Peak Fall Weekends
A hermit and his two dogs once picked a giant sandstone cave as their forever home. That alone made me curious. Who walks away from everything to live inside a cliff?. The spot sits in a gorge up to 150 feet deep, carved by glacial meltwater into rock more than 350 million years old.

This Fairy Tale Airbnb in Ohio's Hocking Hills Looks Like a Storybook Come to Life
Ohio's Hocking Hills are full of cabins, and most of them lean rustic, built for hikers who care more about the trail than the decor. Briar Vale took a different route. Follow the back roads outside Logan, and you'll spot it through the trees: steep gables, half-timbering, scalloped shingles, and a stone base, like a […]
