Some Rochester area schools giving back days after quiet winter
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Another quiet winter, has left many area school districts with snow days to spare. That is translating to some bonus days off or an early end to the school year. In Brighton, for example, the district was able to give students a full day off for the April 8 eclipse when initially it didn’t have enough instructional days available. Gates-Chili recently notified parents that it was adding Thursday, May 23 as a day off, creating a five-day Memorial Day weekend. Greece moved up the last school day for Pre-k through eighth grade to June 21, when it was originally June 25.
