Copper Turret is run by the Morrisville Auxiliary Coalition and is connected with SUNY Morrisville. In short, that means the college students in the Hospitality and Culinary Arts programs work with the restaurant to get hands-on experience running a restaurant, both at the front of house and behind the scenes.

Author Brad Balukjian will make two stops in Central New York this weekend to promote his new book, THE SIX PACK: On the Open Road in Search of Wrestlemania. The book tells the backstory of the night the Iron Sheik won the WWF championship, a month before Hulk Hogan would dethrone him to launch the company’s national expansion.
Cinema screens Hitchcock’s 'Shadow of a Doubt'
ROME — Cinema Capitol, 230 W. Dominick St., will present Alfred Hitchcock’s 1943 thriller, “Shadow of a Doubt,” from Friday, April 26 through Monday, April 29. The movie stars Teresa Wright as a small-town girl who is overjoyed when her family receives a visit from her beloved Uncle Charlie. Soon, however, she begins to suspect that her uncle is a serial murderer. Joseph Cotton stars as “Uncle Charlie,” and others in the cast include Patricia Collinge, Henry Travers, Macdonald Carey, and Hume Cronyn. Late in his career director Alfred Hitchcock, widely known as “the Master of Suspense,” chose “Shadow of a Doubt” as his personnel favorite among his 53 movies. Hitchcock selected “Our Town” author Thornton Wilder and “Meet Me in St. Louis” author Sally Benson to collaborate with Alma Reville (Mrs. Alfred Hitchcock) on the screenplay and to assist in creating an authentic small-town America atmosphere.
‘Transformations’ Program Celebrates 10-Year Anniversary of Revolutions per Minute Film Festival, Explores Art of Filmmaking
Students and faculty gathered to view “Transformations,” part of the Revolutions Per Minute (RPM) Film Festival 10th Anniversary Program, at Colgate University on Tuesday, April 16. “Transformations” was the second of two programs screened at Colgate this semester. The event explored the formal and conceptual possibilities of working with film through showcasing the diverse body of works shown at the RPM festival this year. RPM is a Boston-based, artist-run festival celebrating cinematic work.
Colgate University, Hamilton College Perform Joint Chorus Concert
Hamilton College and Colgate University came together the weekend of April 20 for a joint chorus concert under the direction of Sinheang Lee, director of choral programs and assistant professor of music at Colgate University, and Victoria Nieto, visiting assistant professor of music at Hamilton College. Lee has an impressive and global background with experience leading choirs and teaching masterclasses in the U.S., Austria, Germany and South Korea. Nieto has a similarly global background, with roots in Venezuela and experience conducting workshops in Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay.
The American Academy in Rome has announced their 2024-25 prize winners in literature.
Out of over a thousand entrants, The American Academy in Rome has selected 31 artists and academics to receive their Rome Prize, a residency fellowship that provides a stipend as well as a place to live and work on the Academy’s campus in Rome. The prize is awarded to practitioners in 11 fields: ancient studies, architecture, design, historic preservation and conservation, landscape architecture, medieval studies, modern Italian studies, music composition, Renaissance and early modern studies, visual art, and literature.
