1 dead in Cusseta weekend shooting
CUSSETA, Ga. (WTVM) - A Chattahoochee County man is dead following a weekend shooting in Cusseta. According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigations, authorities were called to the 100 block of McNaughton Street around 3 a.m. Sunday. There, first responders found Royal Stephens Westbrooks, 41, of Cusseta, dead at the scene. Details surrounding the shooting have not been publicly released.

Alabama police notice 'foul odor' before finding man dead under his own home
DOTHAN, Ala. (TCD) -- A couple stands accused of killing a 54-year-old man this month and leaving his body underneath his own home. According to the Dothan Police Department, on May 8, officers responded to a residence on Coe Dairy Road to perform a welfare check on Patrick Parrish after an "unusual amount of time passed" with no contact from the man. Upon their arrival, police "noticed a foul odor" coming from the home.
Lots of Sunshine and Heating Things Up
COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Monday was a great day for any of those outdoor plans you had, with temperatures in the low- to mid-80s and a day filled with lots of sunshine. This evening and tonight in the Valley expect clear to mostly clear skies with temperatures near seasonable Tuesday morning, in the low- to mid-60s. If you were a fan of Monday’s weather, it will be almost a copy and paste type of day on Tuesday. Tuesday looks to see lots of sunshine with temperatures reaching the mid-80s. An upper-level ridge will build back over the southeast through the middle of the week leading to temperatures to reach the upper-80s to low-90s Wednesday and Thursday. At the surface high pressure will be in place keeping us mostly dry through that time period too. This upcoming weekend is Memorial Day weekend, meaning some of you may be hitting the roads or skies. Memorial Day weekend expect toasty afternoons, with temperatures in the upper-80s to low-90s Friday through Monday with rain coverage between 20-30%. Isolated showers and storms can’t be ruled out this weekend, but we will continue to keep you updated on rain coverage and timing over the coming days.
