    Prep roundup: Olivet baseball stays perfect in CAAC White

    BASEBALL

    OLIVET 7, EATON RAPIDS 4 / OLIVET 12, EATON RAPIDS 2

    Jackson Sinclair went 5-for-8 on the day with a double and five RBI and picked up the win in the finale while helping Olivet to a CAAC White sweep. Lalo Aguirre was 2-for-4 with a home run and had a save in the opener for the Eagles (15-2, 7-0).

    MASON 8, WILLIAMSTON 7 / MASON 3, WILLIAMSTON 3

    Travis Davis had three total hits and two RBI to help the Bulldogs pick up a win in game one and tie the finale against Williamston. Wyatt Ball notched two hits, including a triple, and Hunter Brackenwagen added two RBI and two runs for Mason (13-5-1). Brayden Johnson tallied a team-high four hits and two RBI and Ben Convey tacked on two hits and a run scored for the Hornets (11-2-1).

    CHARLOTTE 4, IONIA 1 / IONIA 7, CHARLOTTE 0

    Nathan Penfield had a home run, two RBI and two runs scored to help the Orioles split a CAAC White doubleheader with Ionia. Karter Jackson finished with two hits and a run scored for Charlotte. Tyson McDiarmid had a team-high four RBI and Christian Miller tallied three hits and three runs for Ionia.

    ST. JOHNS 7, FOWLERVILLE 5 / FOWLERVILLE 11, ST. JOHNS 6

    Mason Zell went 3-for-4 with two RBI and Logan Keilen homered and had two RBI to lead St. Johns in its win. Griffin Gonzalez went 3-for-4 with three RBI to help Fowlerville earn a CAAC Red split with its 11-6 win.

    BOYS GOLF

    CAAC WHITE JAMBOREE

    Cole Hutchinson was the medalist with a round of 39 to help Lansing Catholic pick up the jamboree win with a score of 172. Bradon Ellis notched a 39 to lead runner-up Eaton Rapids and Noah Thorn shot a 43 for Lakewood as it placed third.

    SOFTBALL

    LANSING CATHOLIC 10, PORTLAND 7 / LANSING CATHOLIC 4, PORTLAND 0

    Avery Dunneback went 6-for-7 with a double, two runs, triple and two RBI for Lansing Catholic in its CAAC White sweep. Taylor Dunneback had four hits and two RBI on the day for the Cougars. Zoey Gruber struck out 13 to earn the opening win for Lansing Catholic (10-7, 5-1). Lilly Thelen had a two-run home run and Autumn Reffitt had a three-run homer in the opener for Portland (12-3, 4-3).

    EATON RAPIDS 9, OLIVET 3 / EATON RAPIDS 14, OLIVET 0

    Ari Brooks tallied a team-high 15 strikeouts in game one to help the Greyhounds secure a pair of CAAC White wins over Olivet. Abi Pratt notched a total of four hits and Brooke DePeel and Danika Finch each finished with two hits for Eaton Rapids (13-8). Isabella Strader went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBI in game one and Kara Priddy tacked on two hits and a run scored for the Eagles.

    WILLIAMSTON 9, MASON 3 / WILLIAMSTON d. MASON

    Jaiden Griffith went 5-for-9 on the day with 6 RBI, a triple, a home run and a stolen base and earned a pitching win in the opener while helping Williamston to a CAAC Red sweep. Ava Jolin and Anna Judit each hit home runs in both games and Thea Fortin earned the pitching win in the finale for the Hornets, who moved to 6-0 in the Red.

    GIRLS TENNIS

    ST. JOHNS 6, WILLIAMSTON 2

    The Redwings swept doubles and split the singles matches for CAAC Red win over Williamston. Isabel Thelen (No. 1) and Lily Howell (No, 3) had straight set singles wins for St. Johns.

    LANSING CHRISTIAN 7, LESLIE 1

    Leah Klan (No. 2), Juliet Ivkovich (No. 3) and Isabella Stephenson (No. 4) picked up singles wins for Lansing Christian, which also swept the doubles flights on its way to a win. Claire Peek won at No. 1 singles for Leslie.

    EATON RAPIDS 8, CHARLOTTE 0

    Allie White, Kylyn NaDell, Karina Doremire and Chloe Hoffman won their singles flights in straight sets and Eaton Rapids also swept the doubles matches to earn the CAAC White win.

    GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD

    OWOSSO 83, LAKE FENTON 44

    LAKE FENTON – Libby Summerland won the 100, 200, 400 and the pole vault while helping Owosso to a Flint Metro League win. Peyton Spicer was the top finisher in the long jump, high jump and discus for the Trojans, who are 5-0 in the Flint Metro League.

    GIRLS LACROSSE

    PORTAGE NORTHERN 12, LANSING CATHOLIC 2

    Sarah Hicks had both goals for Lansing Catholic, while Emily Putman made 12 saves in the loss.
