Evan Honer just won't let up with the recent barrage of singles. I'm sure not complaining, though. The up and coming singer/songwriter is only 23 years of age, but his lyricism consistently proves wise beyond his years, and that notion is apparent in each of the seven singles he has already released thus far in 2024. Fresh off his impressive and well-received debut record
West On I-10 back in April 2023, Honer quickly kept the ball rolling with new singles shortly thereafter, and recently announced that his next album
Fighting For would drop on June 7, featuring several of the singles he's released since that first project. And now, less than a month out from the 16-track release, Honer has decided to give us one more glimpse of what the album beholds with his latest single and the album's title track "Fighting For." Honer's powerful vocals bring an emotional edge to the new track as he mulls over the post-breakup loneliness that is only exacerbated by a failed attempt to rebound, and the overall emptiness that one is likely to feel in such a situation. While still generally stripped back and lyric-focused, "Fighting For" boasts a tastefully bigger sound than a lot of Honer's other work, maintaining a semblance of consistency within his catalog but testing the bound of what his sound will become.
