OKLAHOMA CITY ( KFOR ) – More than a week after her doorbell camera was stolen from her porch, a metro woman’s home is burglarized by a different suspect.

“I was scared,” said Jessica Carter. “I didn’t know what he wanted to do”

News 4 first talked to Carter on April 17, 2024 . Two days before, security footage and pictures captured a man taking her doorbell camera, knocking on her door, waiting on the porch, then leaving.

Carter had a feeling something would soon happen. She was right.

Fast forward to April 26, another man appeared at her home.

“They had came inside my house,” said Carter.

Carter said on that day, the suspect waited behind a tree while she left home, near Northwest 10th and Portland, then walked up to her door and waited for several minutes. His back was facing her doorbell camera that was positioned inside the window. However, Carter said the camera was not triggered.

Minutes later, he walked away from the porch. Carter believes the man went around the block and hopped her backyard fence.

“He came from back here, over there in that corner,” said Carter.

Then, he walked up to her back screen door.

“They had pulled this,” said Carter. “They had reached in, unlocked it, and gotten in.”

Carter believes the door was locked. There are no signs the man forced his way inside the house. When she returned home, Carter said her clothes, trash, and furniture were thrown around the house.

Also, the cameras she was about to install were gone.

“They were still in the box, the receipt was in the box,” said Carter.

She believes he stole the cameras, along with her Playstation and other miscellaneous items.

“It was like weird stuff, like my nail polish. He stole my toilet paper, q-tips, laundry soap,” said Carter. “They tried to take my TV but they didn’t.”

Carter immediately called police and filed a police report. After these two events, Carter has spent $800 on security. She has new cameras and new locks.

“It happened already twice, I’m thinking they’re going to come back,” said Carter.
