Upcoming Pine Ridge Park Project May Impact Okeechobee Residents: Expect Partial Lane Closures
The Okeechobee County Public Works Department plans to start a project at Pine Ridge Park Area on December 5, 2023, ending on December 21, 2023. The project includes driveway pipe replacement and drainage work. This will cause partial lane closures on several streets such as NE 28th Ave (Ellerbee Rd), NE 29th Ter, NE 30th Ave, NE 31st Ter, and NE 11th Lane.

Jupiter officers honored for stopping potential mass shooter
Two Jupiter police officers on Tuesday were awarded Guardian of the Community awards at the Okeechobee County School Board meeting for stopping a potential mass shooter. "Nothing we can do or say can thank these gentlemen for what they’ve done for our No. 1 asset, which is our children," Okeechobee County Sheriff Noel Stephen said during the ceremony. "(They) went above and beyond the call of duty and deter a tragedy from happening within our jurisdiction."
