Nordhoff's Quin Seider wins two titles at Citrus Coast League Swimming Championships

Nordhoff High senior Quin Seider continued his dominance in the pool on Thursday, winning two titles at the Citrus Coast League Swimming Championships at Carpinteria High.

Seider won the 100 freestyle in 45.56 seconds and 200 freestyle in 1:42.95. Two weeks ago, the Arizona State commit qualified for this summer’s U.S. Olympic swimming trials in Indianapolis. Seider swam a time of 49.84 in the 100 free at the Fran Crippen Memorial Swim Meet of Champions at the Marguerite Aquatic Center in Mission Viejo. He met the qualifying standard of 49.99.

The Star's two-time Boys Swimmer of the Year will now try to add to his three CIF-Southern Section titles. The CIF-SS swimming finals will be held at Mount San Antonio College this coming week. The state meet is scheduled for May 9-11 at the Clovis Olympic Swim Complex.

Seider also teamed with Flynn VanAuker, Benjamin McSorley and Rafael Sierra to lead the Rangers to the 200 IM relay title with a time of 1:41.89. VanAuker won an individual title by finishing first in the 100 backstroke in 54.95.

Carpinteria won the boys team title with 421 points, with Nordhoff finishing second at 217. Malibu was third at 139, followed by Hueneme (132), Channel Islands (113), Santa Paula (68), and Fillmore (4).

Amelie Pinkernell was a double girls champion for Nordhoff, winning the 50 freestyle in 25.58 and 100 breaststroke in 1:12.69. Melina Seider, Quinn's younger sister, captured the 500 freestyle title in 5:14.76.

Carpinteria won the girls team title with 276 points. Malibu finished second at 257, followed by Nordhoff (219), Santa Paula (214), Hueneme (87), Fillmore (77), and Channel Islands (55).
