Oilton outdoor warning sirens not operational

OILTON, Okla. — The Oilton Fire Department says the city's outdoor warning sirens are not operational at this time.

Oilton Fire says the sirens will be fixed this week but they encourage residents to have an alternative method to receive severe weather alerts.

Oilton Fire says in the event of severe weather they will drive around with lights and sirens to notify residents.

Oilton Fire Department's full post said:

"The outdoor warning siren is not operational at this time. A technician will be here this week to work on it. Please have alternative means of notification of severe weather. In the event of severe weather we will do our best to drive around town with lights and sirens to help notify citizens. Please be patient as we get this addressed."

FOX23 will continue to provide updates on severe weather threats in Green Country.
