Jacksonville State expands degree options to tackle public health shortage
For the fall 2024 semester, Jacksonville State University will offer two more degree options. The university will now offer a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health and Master of Science in Public Health. The Alabama Department of Public Health reports at least 600 vacancies statewide for public health positions. The department said, "A strong public health workforce is vital to our state, as many of our current team members are close to retirement age."
