OGDEN, Utah ( ABC4 ) — An Ogden home is facing more than $250,000 worth of damage after a fire tore through the structure Wednesday afternoon.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., the Ogden City Fire Department was dispatched on reports of a “structure fire” on the 2000th block of Ogden Ave.

When fire units arrived at the scene, they said they found the one-story, single-family home with smoke and flames coming from the window and spreading into a neighboring duplex.

The structures were quickly searched and evacuated, the fire department said, and nobody was injured. Crews found one cat, who was returned to its owners.

Firefighters worked to extinguish the flames and said they had it under control and extinguished in a short time frame.

The fire reportedly spread into the attic of the duplex, but was also quickly extinguished.

While the cause of the fire is currently under investigation, the Fire Marshal’s Office said the building has an estimated $250,000 in damage
