The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) joined in a group effort by law enforcement to seize about 37 pounds of methamphetamine in Odessa.

During a traffic stop on April 11 in Odessa, three law enforcement agencies worked together to close an investigation.

Texas DPS' Criminal Investigations Division (CID) and Texas Highway Patrol (THP) conducted a joint investigation alongside the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in Ector County to secure the drugs.

"This investigation's success is an example of the collaborative efforts of law enforcement to combat the trafficking of controlled substances in West Texas," Texas DPS said in a statement.

The seizure is part of an ongoing investigation. As of Tuesday morning, no further information was available.
