ECTOR COUNTY, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- A popular radio DJ from Odessa, and his family, were among four killed in an Ector County crash Saturday afternoon.

According to a Texas Department of Public Safety crash report around 2:45 p.m. on April 20, troopers responded to a crash involving two vehicles in the area of 42 nd Street and FM 1936. At the scene, investigators found a Dodge Ram 1500 and a Chevrolet Silverado involved in a head-on collision.

Investigators said the driver of the Dodge, identified as 19-year-old Leo Sandoval, of Clint, was traveling westbound in the eastbound lane of 42 nd Street on the wrong side of the road when he struck the Chevrolet, driven by 46-year-old Hector Manuel Martinez-Olivas. Martinez-Olivas, a radio DJ for Q-108, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers in the Chevrolet, Norma Estela Marquez-Gonzales, 45, and a 14-year-old boy, also died at the scene.

Investigators said Sandoval was also seriously injured in the crash; he was taken to an area hospital where he later died from his injuries. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Loved ones of the radio host and his family are now asking for help for funeral expenses. If you’d like to help, you’ll find that fundraiser here .
