The Salvation Army celebrated the canteen's arrival with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday, marking an addition local leaders have worked toward for more than a year. Officials pointed to the fire at the historic Floyd County Courthouse earlier this year as an example of when the vehicle could have made a difference. "This would have been huge for Rome," Cory Tilley said, explaining that the canteen could have provided cold water and refreshments to firefighters, emergency personnel and residents gathered near the scene. The canteen is equipped with a two-burner stove, industrial coffee maker, small refrigerator and generator, allowing volunteers to prepare and distribute meals
