Restaurant Focused on Regional Chinese Food with French-influence Coming to Oceanside

The owners of 24 Suns, a Chinese pop-up series focused on high-end dining service, and the owners of IRS Cocktails are teaming up to open a new restaurant called Swan & Fox in Oceanside at 3375 Mission Avenue, Suite J.

Before launching 24 Suns, chefs Nicholas “Nic” Webber and Jacob Jordan made a name for themselves by helping Addison become San Diego’s first and only three Michelin-starred restaurant. Now, the two are partnering with Ed and Sunny Sanderson of IRS Cocktails to open the restaurant in mid-2024 , according to San Diego Magazine . Swan & Fox offers Chinese cuisine from various regions prepared using French techniques paired with various craft cocktails.

The new restaurant will eventually replace Angelina’s Bar And Grill. However, the owners have yet to change the name and will continue using the space as Angelina’s while transitioning to the new brand. They expect to complete renovations and rebrand into Swan & Fox by mid-year. Before that happens, the owners will use the time to introduce and educate guests on “progressive Chinese food” from various regions. Customers can expect a handful of signature dishes from 24 Suns’ menu, including their scallop, pork jiaozi, and smoked lamb rack cured in fermented black beans.

To help with this new venture, the team is bringing Sam Peters and his bar consulting firm, SPK Bar Hospitality & Training, to build the bar program. In addition to having some of IRS’s signature cocktails, the team will create a handful of specifically curated cocktails that will complement Jordan and Webber’s menu. Once Swan & Fox opens, the team plans to launch a takeaway brand called Pagoda, a spin on Chinese-American takeout favorites and takeaway cocktails via a distilling license.
