Troublesome Jersey Shore bridge could be closed for weeks for emergency repairs
An oft-shuttered bridge that connects two Jersey Shore towns in Monmouth County could be closed for several weeks for repair work, county officials announced Friday. During a routine inspection of the Glimmer Glass Bridge — which links Brielle and Manasquan over the Glimmer Glass Creek — “necessary repair work” was discovered, according to a statement from Monmouth County.

HAZLET, NJ: The Hazlet Office of Emergency Management would like the public to be aware their input is sought at a workshop hosted by the Monmouth County Sheriff's Office on June 20. The goal is to gather information for an update to the county's hazard mitigation plan, which identifies risks and vulnerabilities associated with natural disasters and develops long-term strategies for protecting people and property from future hazard events. Updates are required every five years in order to be eligible for certain types of state and federal disaster relief funds after a disaster occurs. The workshop is Thursday, June 20 from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Sheriff’s Office, 2500 Kozloski Road, Freehold. View flyer (PDF).
